Brenna DeVaney (she/her) is a partner at Skadden where she leads the firm’s global pro bono practice, directing the firm’s strategy, partnerships, and delivery of pro bono services across offices worldwide. She manages the firm’s relationships with leading legal services organizations, nonprofits, and other external stakeholders, and works closely with corporate legal departments to design and expand innovative in-house pro bono programs and cross-sector collaborations. She also has extensive experience in large-scale legal mobilization and disaster response, coordinating rapid, high-impact legal efforts in times of crisis. Brenna is the founding co-president of the Law Firm Antiracism Alliance, a coalition of law firms working collectively to address systemic racism. Brenna frequently speaks at national and international events that focus on pro bono leadership, access to justice and law firm-corporate partnerships. She also serves as an adjunct professor at University of Michigan Law School and Northwestern Pritzker School of Law.

Adam Heintz (he/him) is Director of Pro Bono at Legal Services NYC (LSNYC). Adam created and manages the pro bono program at LSNYC, which now works with more than 5,000 volunteers annually at more than 100 major law firms and corporations across more than 5,100 cases. He has developed more than twenty pro bono initiatives, including projects focused on habeas relief for immigrants, housing conditions, public benefits, transgender name changes, asylum, naturalizations, and more. He raises millions of private dollars annually for LSNYC through pro bono partnerships. Adam also secures roughly $100M worth of donated time from pro bono partners each year for the organization. Adam has spoken and written extensively about pro bono. Adam also consults with legal aid organizations around the country to help them develop effective pro bono programs, including evaluations, strategic planning, executive coaching, and disaster relief. Prior to joining LSNYC, he spent six years as a litigation associate at Morrison & Foerster, LLP, where he maintained an active pro bono docket. Adam received his B.A. from Oberlin College and J.D. from NYU Law School.

Matt Kugizaki (he/him) is the Director of Pro Bono at Public Counsel, where he leads pro bono partnerships and initiatives that advance civil rights and racial and economic justice. He aims to expand access to legal services for people of limited means, rural and underresourced communities, and communities impacted by systemic inequities. Matt has developed and scaled pro bono programs across a wide range of practice areas, including small business and nonprofit support, LGBTQ+ advocacy, disaster resilience, expungement, guardianship, immigration, and public benefits. Before joining Public Counsel, Matt built and led one of California's largest legal aid pro bono programs at Inland Counties Legal Services. Prior to his work in legal aid, he practiced for nearly a decade as a civil litigator, representing companies, nonprofit organizations, and individuals in complex litigation matters. He holds a B.S. and M.S. in Statistics from UCLA, and a J.D. from Boston University School of Law.

Paul Lee (he/him) coordinates Steptoe's pro bono program and mentors on a variety of pro bono matters, particularly those involving immigration and juvenile law. He has responsibility for all aspects of the firm's pro bono efforts and serves as the firm's point person in working with legal service organizations, locally, nationally, and internationally. Paul brings a wealth of experience in the management of a multinational law firm pro bono program. As pro bono counsel at his prior firm, he developed multi-office projects in the areas of representing immigrants, assisting veterans, and meeting the needs of the homeless. Paul previously served as the pro bono coordinator for Kids in Need of Defense (KIND), a national organization providing pro bono representation to unaccompanied immigrant children. He launched the DC field office of KIND, liaising with multiple law firms, border agencies, courts, child welfare organizations, schools and other community groups. Paul also previously served with an international law firm as a Georgetown pro bono fellow.

Molly Meltzer (she/her) is the Director of Pro Bono at Brooklyn Defender Services (BDS), where she leads the organization's pro bono program across its criminal defense, family defense, immigration, and civil legal practices. She develops strategic partnerships with law firms, corporate legal departments, and volunteer attorneys to expand access to justice and strengthen representation for the clients and communities BDS serves. Molly also serves as Training Manager for BDS's Adolescent Representation Team, supporting attorneys representing young people in criminal and family courts. Prior to her current role, she was a juvenile defender at The Legal Aid Society and an attorney in BDS's Family Defense Practice. In 2018, she served as Director of Pro Bono at Bet Tzedek Legal Services in Los Angeles, one of the nation's leading civil legal aid organizations. A recognized leader in defender-based pro bono, Molly regularly presents at national conferences on building effective pro bono partnerships, expanding access to justice through public defense, and developing innovative collaborations between defender organizations and the private bar. She is a graduate of Tufts University and American University Washington College of Law.

Jen Minervini (she/her) is a pro bono manager at Skadden. Primarily based in the firm's New York office, she also supports pro bono projects out of Boston and other locations across the firm. She helps manage the pro bono program's initiatives and works to sustain the program's commitment to client-centered service that is responsive to real-time, evolving needs. Building projects and larger-scale partnerships with legal services organizations is a core part of Jen's role, both within and beyond the firm's practice. She has also worked with the Law Firm Antiracism Alliance since its founding, helping to organize its racial justice programming, particularly related to the annual summits. Through this work, Jen has developed a deep commitment to fostering collaboration among legal services organizations, law firms, and pro bono leaders, all in service of the shared goal of expanding access to justice for underserved communities.

Lou Sartori (he/him) is Chief Counsel of the Pro Bono Practice at The Legal Aid Society, where he oversees the recruitment, administration, and coordination of nearly 2,000 pro bono volunteers annually. Working across Legal Aid’s practices and borough offices, he develops pro bono initiatives serving marginalized communities, including survivors of trafficking, older adults, immigrants, LGBTQ+ individuals, public housing residents, court-involved youth, and people impacted by the criminal legal system. He also advances systemic reform through impact litigation partnerships between Legal Aid advocates and law firms. Legal Aid has relationships with over 100 national and regional law firms, law schools, and corporate legal departments. As a member of Legal Aid’s leadership team, Lou collaborates with Chief Attorneys and Operations Chiefs to support clients and staff at the nation’s largest public interest law firm. He is a frequent presenter at national and local conferences focusing on pro bono ethics and program management and has served as an adjunct professor at St. John’s University School of Law.

Jerri Shick (she/her) is the global pro bono counsel at Paul Hastings and is based in the firm's New York office. She oversees the pro bono program across all Paul Hastings offices. In this role, Jerri fosters relationships with local, national and international public interest organizations to collaborate on pro bono matters, including oversight of pro bono projects. Jerri also helps advance new pro bono initiatives with legal services organizations, facilitating pro bono participation across the firm. She helps firm lawyers develop pro bono practices that build their skills and complement their commercial practices. Jerri also manages pro bono collaborations with the firm's corporate clients. She designs systems to process, track and manage pro bono matters and addresses risk management issues with respect to the pro bono program. Jerri also frequently presents at leading pro bono conferences and national training programs.
